I'm looking for a typical french "franchouillard" restaurant in Paris, any ideas? An old japanese friend of my parents is coming to visit Paris for a few days so I'm looking for traditional french restaurants to provide him with the best parisian experience.
He's never been to Europe and I will do anything for him to avoid the "Paris Syndrome" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paris_syndrome)
Thanks!

You can try this: Chez Gladines http://www.gladines.com/ is typical food from south-west of France, like bacon, ham, sausage .... and i love the huge salads with plenty of stuff in it (when i say huge, it's really huge, you have been warned ....) Have fun !
