About us
I have been in the construction business all my life. I watched my father build our house at age 2 and helped out in home renovations growing up in NY in late 70’s and 80’s. I moved to GA in 1991 to work with my father’s construction company, R. Robinson Construction, Inc., that he started in 1981 in Texas. We were a framing contractor specializing in residential homes and light commercial buildings. In 1995 we started D’Elegance Homes building custom homes in Horseshoe Bend in Roswell, GA. After my father’s untimely death in 1997, I took over the businesses. I dissolved D’Elegance Homes to concentrate on R. Robinson Construction, Inc. and build it into one of the largest framing companies in Ga. We went from 5 full time crews to 17 full time crew and 2 punch-out crews. We have worked with prominent builders and worked in exclusive subdivisions in the greater Atlanta area and framed an annual average of 375 home per year. We were featured in the 1998 Street of Dreams at Bethany Green Subdivision in Alpharetta, GA, where we framed 6 of the 10 homes that were featured.
In the early to middle 2000’s when the housing market was starting to soften and work seemingly dried up overnight I decided to take a job as project manager at a commercial construction company in 2003. They specialized in commercial store build outs and restaurants such as in Discover Mills, RaceTrac Gas Stations and Taco Macs. I learned a lot in new building processes and in accurate scheduling for multiple subcontractors on multiple projects at once. In 2005 I decided to go back to my roots of framing, renovations and remodeling. The first job back was the framing of the Mall of Georgia Taco Mac in Gwinnett County and 2 RaceTrac buildings in Marietta and Decatur for the previous company that I worked for. can work where others can’t. I also invested in CAD Design software to give me an edge over the competition. Over the past ten years the software technology has immensely improved as well as my skill with the software to provide exciting and highly detailed renderings of remodels or additions. This allows the customer to visualize the finished project down to the paint color. This also gives me a blueprint on which to give the customer a more accurate estimate and saves time and money on waste.
In 2011, I closed R. Robinson Construction. Inc., and opened Robinson Residential Construction, LLC. This new company is dedicated to high quality New Custom Home Construction, Remodeling and Renovations. We also specialize in Custom Kitchens and Designs, Decks and Screen Porches. The subs I use are licensed and insured per state law. My subs have been a loyal partner in my success in this industry. Some have been with us going far back to 1995. Working with people you trust and have mutual respect for makes for a better final product.
I am an on the job contractor who oversees every aspect of the project and I am not afraid to get my hands dirty. I prefer to give my customer the personal attention that the project deserves. This helps two fold. If a problem arises or if material is short or missing I can resolve the issues immediately without subcontractors leaving the site. This keeps the jobs going on schedule and keeps cost down. This also gives the customer confidence that their project will being completed on time and correctly.
I hope you take the time to look over our portfolio of completed jobs and project renderings. I’m sure you will be impressed and hope to hear from you on your future project.
