  In addition to Self Edge, I've had good luck with [Denim Therapy](http://denimtherapy.com/). I had them do a chain stitch hem on a pair for me. You also might be able to find a Groupon deal or something similar, They had an offer up on Gilt a while back. They specifically mention keeping the original hem on their website. I also had a crotch blowout fixed at [Denim Surgeon](http://www.denimsurgeon.com/). The reinforcement has held up pretty well, but I wasn't overly impressed with the darning, all that said, I'm sure they can do a good hem. They also specifically mention reattaching a hem.
