I've never been a fan of going to the big chains for car work, as they try and upsell repairs I can do myself. Are there any good small shops in or near Farmington Hills? My Ion needs a new set of shocks and sway bars, and I need a mechanic that won't gouge me or fix stuff I don't need.

  I was referred to [Dynamic Auto Care](http://www.dynamiccarcare.com/) on Northwestern by a coworker. I didn't have them do any suspension work, but they passed my sniff test when I was there. I typically do all my own work, but I trusted them to do work properly and not upsell.
