  If you want a nicer restaurant (white tablecloths, a place to take someone on a date), try [La Pergola](http://www.lapergolaristorante.net/) in Sherman Oaks. It's been around forever, and the owner has been growing his own fresh produce and herbs in a couple of local gardens forever. I've never had a bad dish there, and their menu is vegetarian-friendly (if that matters to you).
