Looking for hotel recommendations! We're a foodie couple in our 30s, looking forward to exploring SF in June. We've heard that hotels in the Union Square area might be a good fit for us (centrally located, convenient, etc.).
What would you recommend, friends?

I always recommend [Tripadvisor's real world reviews](https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g60713-San_Francisco_California-Hotels.html) since most of us haven't stayed in hotels in our own home town. Use Priceline's Name Your Price option or try [Hotel Tonight](http://hoteltonight.com) for last minute deals. In general the Union Square area is best for most tourists; it has the most options for shopping and is a central location for access to the rest of the city via [public transport](http://sftma.com/getting-around).
