Ended up doing that myself after finding a tutorial online where all that needed to be done was to take off the front wheel and the battery + housing and removing two bolts for the part itself. Cost $120 for the part and took me two hours by myself. $300 hour for labor? That can't be normal. Is it? Keep my fingers crossed.
