I thought it was a little coincidental that a lot of the reviews were about how well their root canals went. Maybe I was just paranoid? I took my daughter for an exam. My 13 year old (who has never had a cavity & gets cleanings/exams every 6 months) was told she had 2 really bad cavities by Dr. Turner. He also said all of the surfaces of her teeth were sticky which meant she had cavities. He said he never takes x-rays in kids with braces, but since her teeth are so bad he really needed to. He showed me the x-ray & pointed to a "darker" area. I told him I didn't see it & he told me I'm just not used to looking at dental X-rays. My daughter said the hygienist kept stabbing her gums & it also hurt when the dentist was "poking" her teeth. She was very upset & crying after the appointment & I was very stressed out. She had the 2 "bad" cavities filled even though I didn't see the darker area in the X- ray & the "cavities" didn't look like the pictures online. Maybe I'm just paranoid? After they filled the cavities, they asked when I wanted to come in & get the other cavities filled. I told them I'm going to wait. I asked her orthodontist to check her teeth the next day & she didn't see anything. She referred me to another dentist. The dentist I was referred to did an exam & saw no cavities. She told me she never does X-rays on kids with braces because the braces hide the teeth & she can't see anything. She said she didn't see a darker spot or any sign of a cavity on the X-ray & told me if she had a "bad" cavity in the surface, it would probably show up on the X-ray. Guess I'm not paranoid after all.

  Our health insurance changed this new year. Anyone recommend a great dentist office that accepts Anthem in union or Florence? Derringer and McGlone is our dentist now and we love them but they don't take Anthem.
