State vehicle inspection recommendations We just moved from out of state and we need to get our car through the Maryland state inspection. I've had bad experiences with state inspections in Texas, until I found a place that only did inspections - i.e not the repairs. The full service places seem incentivised to find problems they can fix for you. I can't seem to find a place around here that isn't a full service mechanic as well.
Anyone know a good place to take our car, that won't be looking to find any old reason to add services we might not need?

I used Ormsby auto on Summerville Drive for my state inspection and have continued to use them for the past few years for oil changes, And repairs. 301-258-2828.
Does anyone know a good mechanic in the DMV? I'm buying a car this week for a new job I got and I'm looking at buying a volvo (most likely) or a honda/toyota. I'll be going all over DC, Maryland and Virginia looking at cars so I'm hoping I can use a couple of different mechanics that are trustworthy to inspect the vehicles before possibly purchasing one. If anyone has any tips that'd be great!

I've been pretty happy with [Ormsby Auto](http://www.ormsbyauto.com/). If you're registering in MD and it's a used car, make sure it will pass the inspection test, it cost us over a grand when we moved here.
