All of that to say I'm in the market for a new mechanic. Any ideas? Also, are other shops charging to read the check engine light? I had never experienced this until last week. Normally, it's just a common courtesy. (Of course, I did move in from a smaller city).

  I love Bartuning.com for all my mechanic needs.. but I would have really balked at $93.. autozone does it for free
