  I need some help with something childcare related and wondered if anyone had any ideas. I want to start doing more birth doula-ing again but I struggle with childcare when the husband is away for a night a week. I am looking for someone local to me in North Shields who could be paid to be on call to come to my house if I get called out to a birth to make sure the kids are looked after and taken to school. Any thoughts or ideas?

  My mum & mother in law look after my children but have had odd time they couldn't make it due to holiday/illness and found a local company called Kids Deserve the Best, which offers emergency childcare. It looked pretty good, though haven't had to try them yet and may not be cheapest option. Think website was www.kidsdeservethebest.co.uk.

  I looked at Kids Deserve The Best - lady was *lovely* but I just couldn't afford it :-(

  Might be worth looking at kids deserve the best, might be cheaper cos your girls are older perhaps.....?
