About us
Maura Buckley has over 18 years of experience in the Event Industry and continues to keep up to date with current trends and furthers her education of the industry by attending various Conferences and Trade Shows for the industry and by being an active member of International Special Events Society (ISES), as she serves on the Board of Directors as Director of Membership for the ISES NY Metro Chapter and currently serves on the Membership Committee at the International Level. In addition she is also a member of Meeting Planners International (MPI) and attends and networks with other Meeting & Event Planners by attending Networking events held by other Event Organizations such as Council of Protocol Executives (COPE). In 2012 Maura won the BizBash NY Readers Choice Award for Venue Manager of the Year, which is a great honor in the Industry.
Maura started her career in the Event Industry as a seasonal Park Ranger for the National Park Service where she helped plan events for Gateway National Recreation Area and Castle Clinton, National Monument. From there she went on to teaching both Physical Education Classes and 4th Grade for several years while continuing her Event Planning on the side. She then moved on to become the Event & Recreation Planner for the Breezy Point Cooperative (a position created for her) and was instrumental in bringing new events and activities to the community for all age groups. In 2006 Maura went on to become the Director of Special Events for Aviator Sports & Events Center, a Sports Complex located in Brooklyn, NY. Her responsibilities there included the complete development of the Events and Group Sales Department as the building was not even fully built yet. In 2010 Maura decided she was looking to advance in her career and was up for her next challenge and went on to become the Director of Sales, Charters & Events for NY Water Taxi and Circle Line Downtown. In July of 2013 Maura decided it was time to take a risk and leave her full time position at NY Water Taxi to venture out on her own creating Incredible Occasions. One of the major factors that contributed to this decision was also that she needed time to concentrate on the rebuilding process of her home from Hurricane Sandy and spend some much needed time with her five year old who has been dealing with so much since October 2012 when the storm devastated her community of Breezy Point. She still has a full event team to work with her throughout the event process and a large list of vendors that can create an event experience that will leave all of your guests wanting more and ensure that your event is a memorable one for all those in attendance.
Maura has worked on many types of events including but not limited to: Concerts, Festivals, Weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvah’s, Sweet 16’s, Anniversary Party’s, Birthday’s, Corporate Events, Product Launches, Press Conferences, Team Building Retreats, Photo Shoots, Dinners, Galas, Benefits, etc. She has worked on events from 10 people to 10,000 people and provided the same level of great service on each of those events.
Maura’s outgoing personality, work ethic and customer service will continue to make sure that each event moving forward is carefully planned, detailed, organized and customized to meet all of her client’s needs.
