The Little Bird Boutique: Crafts and Fashions
About us
My favourite things to do almost always fall under one of two categories: 1. Sweet things to craft with my daughter, or 2. Sweet things to craft for my daughter.
These crafts vary from finger-painted egg carton caterpillars and noodle necklaces, to wreath making and seasonal décor to kid's party planning, to and child and family photography, and to my latest team venture -designing and sewing baby and toddler dresses with my BFF, Susan Biendarra.
Recently, my best friend Susan (who happens to be a professional seamstress and school teacher) has been teaching me how to navigate a sewing machine.
This has been such an exciting experience for me as I tend to get down right giddy selecting adorable printed fabrics and then MAGICALLY transforming them into something that my daughter Kiele can wear, or we can give away as a thoughtful present. (Who would not want to give or receive an adorable matching dolly and me dress set or coordinating mommy and me aprons?!)
I've been posting pictures of our creations on my personal facebook page and have received so much wonderful commentary and praise, that we thought we might try our hands in business - I don't suspect that we will get rich and retire from our day jobs, but I think our little hobby enterprise is worth a whirl as a side job - even if we just make enough to help support our fabric store tab!
