Kellie L. asked:Hi all, I need advise please. We have been living in our house for approx 5 years. There is a bottle brush tree at the front of our property (not on council strip it is more in line with our front boundary - it was there when we bought the house) and is approx 5 metres from our neighbours side boundary. His pipes are blocked. He had a plumber out who put the electric eel through yesterday and claims there are tree roots in the pipes and is blaming the tree on our property. There is a pit between his house and ours. This morning he was back washing his pool and the pit lid has pushed up out of the ground and his sewerage has backed up. Sydney water have been to his property twice over the past 2 years for the same problem and last time they told him if they have to come out again there will be a cost, he wants us to pay the cost. This could cost thousands. I dont know where we stand or what we can do.
