Does anyone have a recommendation for an attorney?
Our landlord gave us notice during the fire (we live in Petaluma) after ten years.
We were lucky to find a home and a nice landlady.
However.... As we were leaving, the property manager disclosed that the owner plans to do minor changes and then rent the house for double to fire victims.
Today I received an email saying that not only are they going to keep our entire deposit ($2,500), but they plan to bill us for more. This includes a bill for "owner labor" for cleaning and repairs they didn't disclose during the inspection, as well as replacement of items that are normally considered wear and tear.
They genuinely plan to come after us to replace miniblinds, a faucet handle, and even a shower handle (for $91.80.)
We are beyond putting up with this.
Can anyone recommend an attorney who deals with situations like this?
Thanks in advance...
