  If you're on assistance, sometimes they give you an allowance for getting furniture from the main warehouse for hidden treasures. You'll get the pick while it's still at the Washington city mission, before it gets sent to the stores. I'm not sure if they still do this, but I know they used to

  The Washington City Mission offers free cloths,household appliances, furniture and more for free. They even help with some food.
