Hi Canberra mums,
I am in my second trimester ( week 17) and need to hire a doula, as I did not get any spot in Catch program (Canberra hospital). So I am after recommendations for a good doula in Canberra please?
And when is the best time to hire her?
Thanks
Amey B. replied:
I have a few places available if you want to discuss your needs and my services. I do birth photography too. Www.facebook.com/birthbyamey I've had clients book me at 4 weeks, and clients book me the day they go into labour. Never to early or too late.

Hi Canberra mums, can anyone provide recommendations for the best care providers in Canberra/Queanbeyan to take my VBAC journey with? Specifically chiropractors, naturopaths, doulas, acupuncturists and massage therapists? Many, many thanks!

Doula recommendations -
Have just found out we're expecting baby number 2.
I had a very "holistic" approach to my first pregnancy & birth - which in the end gave me great results & a fantastic birth expirence.
Our birth educators had advised us of a doula - but we didn't feel we required one.
This time around I'm thinking it'll be beneficial as my husband will be a little pre occupied with child#1.
I'm looking for someone who preferably has understanding of 'SheBirths' - the birthing class & approach we adapted last time.
Someone who will help me keep my goals on track, attend appointment with me etc.
Would love to know other peoples experiences (both good & bad!), recommendations, cost involved & anything else.
Not interested in CalmBirths.
Thank you

Congratulations on your pregnancy. I'm a student doula and have supported 3 beautiful births so far. As a student my fees are $350. I'd love to meet with you to see if I'm the doula for you. My business page is www.facebook.com/birthsupportbyamey and phone number is 0405 714 738.
Hi CMs,
I have found out we are expecting bub number 2 early next year. I will be birthing at Queanbeyan Hospital and wanted to know if any other mums who have had bubs there used a doula. I am thinking of using one as a support person/tag team during labour etc. After any experiences. Also I will be trying for a VBAC. Considering Qbn is low risk, did any mums attempt a water VBAC? Will be discussing all this with my doctor, just after experience s/advice. I like to be prepared! Thanks.
Amey B. replied:
Thanks Jayd :-) I'm a student doula and have completed my theory and 3 births so far. 2 of these have been vbacs (1 of which was a water birth). I hear QBN hospital is amazing but I haven't had the opportunity to support anyone birthing there yet. I'd love to meet with you and see if we can work together.
