About us
Dr. Santiago was born and raised in Bayonne, New Jersey. He joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 22 where he was trained as a Hull Technician and was stationed at the Groton, Connecticut Nuclear Submarine Base before being accepted to B.U.D.S. (SEAL) training in Coronado California. This is where he suffered a lower back injury and injured both of his wrists, which forced him out of B.U.D.S.. He was then returned to the fleet where he met his wife, Denise.
After finishing his time in the Navy, he sought care for his injuries through the V.A. Healthcare system where he was disappointed to hear that the only options the V.A. offered at the time was either through prescription medication or through surgical options which he was told may or may not be successful. So he suffered through his pain while attaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at Northern Arizona University (in his wife’s home state).
After graduation, he knew he still wanted to further his education in healthcare but hadn’t decided on a specialization until he sought the help of a local chiropractor under the advice of his wife, who had been a patient of chiropractic since her teen years. This is the first time he had ever received any type of relief for his injuries he incurred while in the Navy. It was at that time he knew that this is the philosophy he believed in…..that there IS the possibility of achieving a pain-free life…in a non-invasive way, without drugs or surgery.
So Dr. Santiago packed up his wife and two young sons and moved to Dallas, Texas where he achieved his degree as a Doctor of Chiropractic at Parker College of Chiropractic. He settled in the small suburb of Lewisville and decided that this is where he wanted to raise his children and open his practice, Santiago Family Chiropractic. This is where he has finally set his roots, and looks forward to helping as many people as possible to achieve the dream that he has….of living a pain-free life through the help of Chiropractic.
