  Soy-free vegan/vegetarian restaurant recommendations? We are in town for a week, traveling with a vegetarian friend who has a soy allergy. There’s a lot of food choices around here :) but calling around we haven’t had luck finding a restaurant to eat at. Any recommendations?

  Soy oil is used in most fryers and cook tops at restaurants. Soy allergy is challenging for eating out. The only places in Portland that I know of not using soy oil is Dick's Kitchen and Hawthorne Fish House.
