  Hello! I'm headed with my family for a cruise from LA. We have a full day in LA before our cruise, and 3 days after... looking for ideas for family-friendly hotels, etc near the Port of LA for before the cruise, and then accommodation ideas for after the cruise that will allow us to be well-located for LA and area sights. Basically, I have no sense of the City of LA. Activity suggestions also welcome, thank you!

  The night before our cruise we stayed here: https://www.ihg.com/crowneplaza/hotels/us/en/san-pedro/laxpv/hoteldetail?cm_mmc=GoogleMaps-_-CP-_-US-_-LAXPV You could walk from the hotel to the port but we had the hotel shuttle us, which was about $5 each.
