Calling Ashley’s Army!
As Ashley pulls out her boxing gloves and prepares to enter into another stage of her breast cancer fight next week, we would like to start a meal train to take the burden off worrying about meals. The plan is to have it run for a week following her surgery (next Thursday) and for a week following each of her chemo treatments (she’ll have 4 weeks-date TBD).
If you’re interested in contributing, please email ash_erin@lilly.com to sign up. Erin will confirm your date and also ensure meals aren’t duplicated during the week.
You’re welcome to provide lunches, snacks, dinners, desserts, etc. Recipes that can be frozen are always good options.
NOTE: One thing to keep in mind is patients don’t always feel like eating so a mix of something heavy and something light makes for a good blend. Similarly, we’ll get details to you regarding meals after chemo since it’s normally advised that everything must be served cooked (no raw lettuce for salads even). Stay tuned.
