Update on the cat I posted last night...
He has horrible stomatitis. His gums are inflamed, his teeth are not in good shape, he's missing a few also. His heart sounds good and she said, surprisingly, his chest sounds clear. She didn't feel any masses but did feel possible swollen glands near his jaw.
This was at the emergency clinic so all that was done last night was exam, sedate and a shot of 2 week antibiotic.
His breathing is still not good. Wheezing, loud, and his tongue is out - which may be from his teeth or stomatitis. Slightly labored, I can see him using his stomach muscles. The vet thinks he has a terrible upper respiratory tract infection and possibly ( probably ) other things going on.
He's in my house right now, warm and safe but clearly still very uncomfortable. Unfortunately I am broker than broke right now and I would need to find a vet who would either put me on a payment plan or a vet who would treat him and then take donations over the phone.
Any advice on that would be great. I would rather him get seen ASAP because of his breathing.
Also, last night Tracy Schneider Mueller was kind enough to put the money on a card of hers for the emergency vet. If anyone can donate anything towards that it would mean the world to me. Please contact her for her venmo info.
Thanks again for the support ❤️
