Located in the beautiful Piedmont district of Oakland, Ba-Bite is a purveyor of fine Middle Eastern cuisine serving the neighborhood.
Ba-Bite comes from the Hebrew word babait, בבית, which means “in the home,” or “at home.” Our goal is to make delicious food like you would get at home. Our starting points are our own homes—here in Oakland, where the produce is bountiful and fresh and our favorite meal is a composed salad; in Mica’s childhood home in the Middle East, where hummus is a staple; and in Robert’s childhood home in Central Oregon, where Deschutes Brewery is the go-to for holiday lunch. As Ba-Bite settles in, the menu will reflect homey food from around the globe inspired by our favorites, by our staff, and by our community.
The menu will change frequently, and we aspire to make Ba-Bite a little home away from home for all. However you say home—be it في المنزل, در خانه, evde, u siebie w domu, or any other variation—we hope to fill your belly in a way that would make your grandmother proud.

UPDATE : I went to Timeless Coffee and it was awesome!!! Thanks for all the great suggestions

Echo Ba-Bite, for sure. Amazing salads, yummy falafel, and they can make any salad vegan easily. Very close by.
