About us
Situated in Salima along the shores of Lake Malawi, Mwala Cottage provides accommodation services to guests visiting the lake shore district. Ideally located in Senga off the M5 road 22 km from Salima Boma, the cottage is within reach for local and international tourists wishing to experience the fresh water lake in the central region of Malawi.
The cottage is designed as a double-storey lake house comprised of 4 self contained rooms with a set of 2 rooms on the upper and lower deck. Built on a ridge with steep slopping rocky surface, the cottage stands at an elevated topography, providing beautiful scenery of the lake and the famous bird island in the opposite view.
A descending pathway from the top, leads down to the beach area for a relaxing swim in the fresh waters and memorable sunbathing experience.
Directions:
i. 22 KM drive from Salima Boma towards Senga Bay
ii. After Senga bay market please take note of the sign post directing you to branch off M5 road to your right on the turn leading to Salima Technical College
iii. Drive for less than 1 KM through the villages past the college and Salima Fisheries Office until you reach an incomplete brick fence
iv. Turn to your right into the brick fence which leads to the entrance of the cottage a 100 meters ahead
