I know this is a long shot, and it's not precisely poultry-related, but I'm hoping someone might be able to help.
I need to find a vet (or maybe an experienced rancher?) somewhere near Shelton who can surgically castrate a yearling goat that probably weighs close to 140lbs and has horns. He's still pretty friendly (bottle raised) but the next time he goes into rut I'm afraid that I may have to send him to freezer camp - and that could be as soon as only a few weeks away.
I've only been able to find one local vet who would do it, (Dr Haigh) and he wanted close to $300 back when this guy was less than half his current size. I would do it myself, but I've never seen it done on any kind of livestock.
