  I'm planning to visit home at the end of the month to pick up my dad. I'm bringing along some friends who have never experienced the magic of the UP. My dad's house is WAY too small for us to stay there. Any recommendations on where to stay? We'll have 3 adults and 3 kids, don't have a lot of money so must be reasonable.

  Village Inn in Chatham. Large, super clean rooms with mini fridge, continental breakfast, very reasonable rates, really friendly owners.   Village Inn Motel is less expensive, and the rooms are nicer. I've stayed in both places, and I'd pick Village Inn over America's Best Value any day.
