  Louis: One of the worst things you can do to a vehicle with an aluminum block and head (which Cadillacs have from 1985 onwards with a few exceptions) is overheat them. You overheat them, and chances are you'll blow a head gasket and warp either the head, block or BOTH. Head gaskets, warped blocks and warped heads on Cadillac Northstar, HT4100, HT4500 and the 4.9L OHV V8 require engine replacement or overhaul.
