Where are you from and how did you get into this business?
I was raised in the Rocky Mountains and have always loved the outdoors, so the move to Montana in 2000 was a beautiful experience. I have always enjoyed interacting with people, and it is a joy to be able to share our wonderful community with clients and friends.
At age 18 I got started in the real estate industry as a property manager, with more than 35 homes in my portfolio of rentals. I attended Missouri Western State University to become a paralegal with an emphasis in Real Estate Law. After determining that 8 hours a day behind a desk was not something I was well suited for, I turned to the industry of home building. I received my General Contractors license in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Montana and was on site, building homes for the next 10 years. Only when I sustained a serious injury did I decide I could no longer continue building due to the physical demands involved. Becoming a real estate agent was the next logical step!
I received my license to sell as a real estate agent in the state of Montana in 2005 and have been pursuing it passionately ever since. I feel that my experience in property management and as a general contractor were perfect stepping stones to becoming a real estate agent. The knowledge and expertise I gained along the way are simply invaluable.
Describe a typical work day for you?
A typical day for me is anything but typical. We are an independent real estate brokerage which gives us the flexibility to offer a catered experience to each client. Everyone's needs and wants are different. Some days we get to spend driving clients through our beautiful area and showing them homes. Other days we may be in and out of the office meeting with clients, writing offers, entering new listings, or attending closings. The one constant is that we are always striving to work in the best interest of our clients.
From where do you draw your enthusiasm and inspiration for the job?
I have the unique perspective of coming to Bozeman as an outsider. I wasn't raised in Bozeman, or even in Montana. I ended up in Bozeman when my General Contracting business brought me here. As it happens with so many people, I fell in love with the area and simply couldn't leave! That's where I draw my enthusiasm and inspiration from. I love our little slice of heaven and the people who live in it!
How can a customer ensure that they receive the best possible service from you?
Our clients are our priority. End of story. We work for you. Our motto is 'Your Dream. Our Passion.' Helping people realize their dreams is incredibly rewarding. The real estate agents who work for our brokerage all share this quality. We are good at what we do because we love what we do.
