Djeerlik – how it all started?
After marrying the best of the best we were looking for something that we can do together. We enjoy spending time together (which happened to be in the kitchen with a glass of wine) and in front of the stove, without noticing, we both realised that we enjoy cooking and having a good time with family and friends. This happens almost every night and the idea of cooking for family and friends started. The name comes from a series of Facebook and Instagram hashtags (#djeerlik) which is used to express the enjoyment of almost all things – much like the word lekker in Afrikaans, but just better.
