This fairy tale, self-catering mountain retreat tucks itself away amongst the Makhonjwa Mountains, west of the historical town of Barberton, Mpumalanga, South Africa. Barberton Mountain Lodge, self-catering accommodation can sleep up to 10 people (The Berghuisie - 4 people; and Mukwana Guest Lodge - 6 people).

Barberton Mountain Lodge is an exclusive and private estate, set between the mountains in a tranquil and sub-tropical environment, surrounded by an abundance of nature and natural beauty. These self-catering facilities offer spectacular views over the ancient Makhonjwa Mountain ranges, the vast “De Kaap Valley” and the distant Drakensberg Mountains to the North, East and West of Barberton.

The pristine African mountain veld found here, offers a wide variety of unique geology, fauna and flora and various endemic species are only found here. The brilliant colours and diversity of veld flowers, including the famous Gerbera Jamesonii (Barberton Daisy) cover this amazing landscape after the first spring rains. Small creeks run through the property, forming a canyon with its own waterfall plunging 200 meters down into the valley, enchanted by a natural riverine forest.

Activities here at this self-catering accommodation facility include a variety of outdoor activities and adventure sports ranging from mountain biking, hiking, mountaineering, paragliding, 4x4 trails, abseiling, canyoning, bird watching & stargazing. . .
