About us
Poverty. Inequality. Discrimination.
Far from being solved in even the most developed of nations, these challenges are particularly severe in developing countries. Even more so regarding people with disabilities, whom only have limited opportunities to fully participate in society. Vietnam has proven to be no exception.
Donkey Bakery was founded in August 2009 by Marc Stenfert Kroese and Luyen Shell, with the ambition to empower the less abled, improving their living standards and their futures.
Since then, that’s exactly what we have done. It’s not simply about employment, but providing people with the necessary skills to grow, and help them gain a sense of independence and confidence that will ultimately open doors previously locked.
With over 80% of our current staff being hearing or physically impaired, we have managed to create a sustainable socially responsible venture, capable of competing on par within our business environment.
There might still be a long way to go before we achieve our dreams, and yet we wouldn’t have come so far without you.
Your support directly contributes to the development of opportunities for a young person with a disability, giving them a chance at a better life.
