Suzy’s Stash is in Richardton, ND; a booming metropolis of 600+ people. The building, once upon a time, was home to a soda shop, drugstore and butcher shop. Some major renovations by Suzy’s family and friends, has turned the building into a quaint Quilt Shop that also provides coffee, gifts, flowers and lunch served from 11:00 am until gone.
The story began after decades of Suzy listening to her seven sisters talk about their fabric stashes which they turn into beautiful works of art. An idea turned into reality with a lot of divine intervention, support and help.
It truly is a family business; Suzy’s husband Mark was the main contractor with sons Justin, Devin and Zach helped with demolition and reconstruction. Daughters Rachel, did a variety of things including picking out fun gifts while Hannah who is an architectural student designed the space and helped with painting and getting the coffee shop up and running. Brother Lynn came from Michigan and helped construct walls, display cases and got us moving in the right direction. Deanna, co-owner of the Country Drugstore, right next door was a huge help also.
Suzy and three of her sisters attended a Quilt Market in May of 2017 and were overwhelmed. They had a blast shopping and ordering to bring a wide variety of Batiks, Brights, Linen, Wide Backs ect, from companies like Moda, Robert Kaufman, Henry Glass and Timeless Treasures.
Suzy and her clan plan to offer classes including a beginner sewing class for tweens, teen and adults' Deb Tucker University classes, a swap meet plus other fun events.
