My 100-pound Rottweiler was diagnosed with Addison"s about 2 months ago, and I am still working to lower her Prednisone, since she is still drinking/urinating and eating a lot. She is currently on 2.5 mg once per day. She is due for her next Percorten injection in about 2 weeks. I have two questions I would really appreciate help with. 1) Does anyone know a low-dose protocol vet in the Northern NJ/NYC area? I live in Hoboken, NJ. I would like to find one before her next Percorten injection, since it would make life easier than fighting with my current vet. 2) Could a too high dose of Percorten affect drinking/urination and eating or is it really mainly due to Prednisone? Thanks so much for all you do for all of us newbies! Mike (and Misha too)Lisa K. replied:Yes, he does low dose. Matt Krupnick. 973-616-0400. He is in Pompton Plains near Wayne. He has his own in house lytes. I highly recommend him. If they don't want to travel that far, Rutherford Animal Hospital is good and dome of their vets are on board with the low dose protocol.
