  Where is a good place to purchase a guitar on this side of the bridge? I have a 6 year old that will be starting lessons. Want something that won't be junk to learn on but i don't want to spend over $300 on it either for his first...   My daughter just got set up with an acoustic guitar and the additional help stuff at Mainline Music. It was awesome to be able to touch and hold things to make sure it fit. We spent under $300 and felt very confident with the purchase. They also have lessons there.

  I also recommend Mainline Music downtown. I've been there for several things over the years and they are always nice and very knowledgeable. They also have plenty of guitars in your price range, I got my kid one there for about $120 if I remember right.
