Any recommendations? Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could recommend any budget single color printing station that can print (support / hold) a 16”x24” (or more) screen frame?
There’s a few on amazon ($100-$200) that are single colored stations, but those do not support/hold that frame size.

I had one of those blue ones and it worked just fine on 20 x24” frames. Granted, you have to tighten the spring bolts all the way to support the weight of a big screen and you may need a larger platen but it should be fine if you don’t want to spend much. You could also look at the Riley Hopkins 150. It’s $199 on sale on screenprinting.com.
New to home screen printing, looking for 1 color kit recommendations to start with (based in Canada) A year and a half ago I worked for a screen printing company creating designs and screen printing, so I'm familiar with using the materials. I have never made a screen myself, and am looking to start this at home as a little side project with some of my black & white drawings now that I have some people interested. I would appreciate any recommendations/how to get started! Thank you!

I think a kit from Ryonet is going to be your best bet. They’ve done a good job at putting together affordable and easy to use kits for beginners. This kit is a pretty good deal: https://www.screenprinting.com/diy-print-shop-t-shirt-kit If you want to save some money and just get your hands dirty you can get the speedball kit on Amazon which is what we learned on about 15 years ago: Speedball Ultimate Screen Printing Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000SKRHX0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_NReNAb4AGFXF3
I'm interested in starting to restretch my own screens, any advice? Where is a good place to buy mesh and the glue for the frames? Thanks
Eric P. replied:
Ryonet (screenprinting.com) sells quickset glue and screen. I started with that, but the quickset glue leaves knifelike edges unless you are meticulous and I never had good luck with longevity. It is a brittle glue and clamping it tends to crack and weaken it. It's a good way to get your feet wet though. For better, more flexible glue look at Rhino systems. 15 min set, two part. That's the kind most re-stretching companies use.
I want to be heat transfer vinyl for shirts. The vinyl at hobby lobby and Michaels are 14.99 and can only produce one shirt. Does anyone know where I can purchase rolls by the feet and not sheets?
