In response, Your House Boxing & Community Club (YHBCC) has been created to serve at-risk youth, by providing a safe place to develop and execute a life plan, and by using cutting-edge scientific research, data collection, and organizational planning to ensure success. YHBCC uses a “three house system,” focusing on boxing, education, and community support; students will be allowed to train with a boxing instructor in exchange for ongoing commitments to meeting educational goals and engaging in community service. Founders Chris Cates-Lopez and Kristen Spray-Cates developed this structure based on the tools and resources that helped Chris emerge from gang life to become a productive member of his community. Each “house” provides a point of emphasis for youth enrolled in the YHBCC program. The YHBCC program will use evidence-based practices to shape individualized plans. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst will oversee the collection of data and regularly tailor individual programs for each student based on the student’s particular circumstances and needs. By monitoring the success of various types of interventions for each student, YHBCC gives each student the greatest chance of success. This approach sets YHBCC apart from other programs.
Happy Friday neighbors!
Wondering if anybody has any referrals on these 2 things in our neck of the woods:
1. A boxing gym
2. A reliable & reasonably-priced yard work person (for clean up and maintaining)
Thanks!
