About us
Hello! My name is Joy Wheat and I am the owner of Life Captured by Joy, a small photography business out of Laurel, MS and serve the surrounding areas. I am a full time photographer, part time musician. I have a love for anything artsy and creative and that is what started my interest in photography at a young age of 14, living in sunny Florida. I later married my amazing husband Mark Wheat and moved to the heart of the south.
I specialize in wedding and portrait photography and am always up for a new photo adventure!

I understand that being in front of a camera can be very nerve-racking, so I aim to make my clients feel as comfortable as possible during our photo sessions. After all, it should always be a "joy"-ful experience! ;)
