My interest in photography started when I was just on the cusp of adolescence. I saw my sister outside, taking pictures of my fathers garden for a father's day gift. I had always been artistic, drawing, painting, singing, dancing, etc., but I had never tried photography. But once my sister was finished, I grabbed the Lumix/Canon/old-and-now-irreverent hunk of point-and-shoot camera and traipsed out to the backyard to show her up. And I did.
I "had" my first "gallery" when I was 15 years old. Really, a photographer that thought I had a lot of promise secured a space for my photos in the basement area of where real, established artists were displaying their masterpieces. I hung my photographs, invited my family and best friend to the event, and beamed every time a gallery-goer got lost and stumbled downstairs.
Since that time, I have shot for a number of magazines and many local business and individuals, and participated in a worldwide gallery organization. I feel very fortunate to have had these opportunities at such a young age.
Whatever I photograph, I keep in mind that nothing is boring. And when you book your shoot, that's what I can guarantee.
