Does anyone have any suggestions for dog training? Earlier in the year we adopted a Dachshund Chihuahua, that is currently 8 months old, and she is a handful. We don't know anything about training dogs really. She seems to have separation anxiety, she'll whine or chew up whatever she gets her paws on. She's very bitey and we've tried to teach her it's not okay but she dodges our nose boops or holds our hands so we can't boop her. And she's gotten used to going on the puppy pads only. At first she was starting to do well going outside but it got too cold for her and she wouldn't go outside. Now she only sees outside as time to play. We're at a loss. I want to do whatever we can to work through this, but my partner is very much leaning toward returning her to the rescue we got her from. Are there trainers in town that could help us? And I don't just mean like hour sessions or anything, but I'm open to ideas. Thought I'd ask here to look for help locally.
