  I am guessing so...my clutches are 5 layers plus sewing through a french seam and it worked well on that. I got it at Eagle Enersave in Drexel Hill, 610-259-1900. Gary is the guy that works there. There is also a video on the Janome website. Price was $1200. But, I am enjoying it.
