Square Yard is situated on Ledard Road, located between the David Cargill Centre and The Ball Room, and opposite Langside Parish Church.
Square Yard Community Garden was founded for the benefit of the local community. We aim to provide a space for relaxation and reflection, where children can play, people can unwind and read a book, meet their neighbours, find out about healthy eating and how to encourage wildlife.
We have a focus on social inclusion and also aim to make the garden as wheelchair friendly as possible.
We have received funding from various sources to create a growing space in the heart of the community.
What do you want to see in your community garden - let us know! We also welcome any ideas you have for fundraising and fun events at the garden. Please don't be shy.
The garden will only grow if we have volunteers to get involved. You don't need to have any special gardening knowledge or skills.
Our regular gardening sessions during the summer months are Thursdays 11am - 2pm, and Saturdays 1-4pm.
Current winter opening hours are Saturdays from 11am - 2pm. Come in and see what is happening, either at these times or when you see the door open.
