Merideth Finney Garrigan brings a unique and fun element to every photo session and image! Creating a relaxed and natural environment for Family Portrait sessions, Weddings, and all other events in order to truly grab all the important fleeting moments in beautiful, natural, documentary-style photography!

In commissioned pieces, I am using this technique to adorn your photographs with organic beeswax to create an archival quality work of art. In my art, I combine my LOVE for photography and found objects with the ancient technique of encaustic----and these pieces explore the application of wax onto photographic images, metal, feathers, bones, stones, or any other of nature's treasures...and incorporate them into unique pieces of art.
Because wax is so translucent, beautiful effects are produced as light hits the image and reflects off and through the layers of wax and substrate. An encaustic painting may appear to glow because it is actually illuminated from within. Like us.
