Has anyone had any success with a murder mystery kit/in-house program? Looking for suggestions...

http://www.nightofmystery.com is where our teen librarian gets all the stuff for our annual teen murder mystery night. People register in advance and are encouraged to come in costume. The night of, she hand out the main roles and any supporting roles, and gives a skosh of direction. These things are usually in two acts, and we have a big snack break between the acts. We have small prizes for best costumes, most in character, and solving the mystery. I would say that only a handful of participants actually follow the story, most are there for the fun role playing and snacks. Always a good time.
Planning to have a family murder mystery evening. Has anyone done something similar for 10-12 people? If so where did you get the resources? Ideas? Mix of ages. Thanks
