Do I need to find another dentist - charging 130£ per filling I need a little advice on getting my teeth sorted out. I have access to NHS and need two fillings. The dentist told me that I can get a silver filling for about £50 each or a white filling for about 130 each and that the white ones aren't covered by NHS since they're considered cosmetic and £19 for the consultation.
Is my dentist ripping me off a bit? I mean, I know it's London and things do tend to be pricey here but that does still seem a little steep. Is there no way to get decent looking teeth on NHS? Or don't they at least cover up to the cost of the silver ones and if we want white ones we pay the remainder?

I can't remember how much I was charged for mine but it probably wasn't 3 figures. I'll see how much it cost me (bearing in mind the NHS charges went up since I had the filling). Here is the dentist, if you are interested: http://www.theivorydentalpractice.com/ (She's also really nice)
