  Heading out of the country, need a pet sitter We are going out of the country for Christmas this year and are looking to get a pet sitter for our dog instead of boarding him for two weeks. Does anyone have any recommendations on who we should use? We look on the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters website to get a list started, but no idea where to go from there as reviews are few and far between it seems. We are in the Brookhaven area if that helps. Thanks!

  I've been using [PetMinders](https://petminders.com/) for a couple of years with my cat. They've been reliable - by my preference, they text me when they've been there for the day. So far, it's always been the same person every time. They do a free consult before you ever book them, so they can meet your pet, hear what you need them to do, get keys to your place, etc. You can also request they bring in your mail/change lights around/water plants, etc.
