  I've been researching mold abatement for the action of a Kawai upright piano. I feel like I'm getting nowhere with my research. Has anyone done any work like this? I'm thinking of wiping down the wood parts with a diluted bleach solution. I may put the action outside on a sunny day to expose the felt to some UV light. The action is completely functional and, aside from the mold, in good condition. Any other suggestions on dealing with the felt that has mold, including the hammers?

  Plenty of mold abatement chemicals available at local home centers. One I used on the walls, insulation, and wood of the bathroom downstairs before remodeling is called concrobium mold control and comes in a 32 oz spray bottle. Didn't leave a residue, or affect the wood that I could see. Bleach isn't the solution, mold will regrow, uv light might help, but haven't had too many sunny days lately... see: http://www.concrobium.com/
