Strabismus Surgery I'm interested in getting strabismus surgery but don't know how to get things rolling. Do I need a referral from a family doctor or an optometrist? Can I just book an appointment with an ophthalmologist directly? Any recommendations who I should see? Any past experiences you can share with me?
I recently became interested because I've seen someone posting his recent experience and the outcome looked amazing. Im a bit insecure because my right eye is slightly higher than my left. It looks to be about 2-3mm higher. I constantly try to look straight/down so it's less noticeable. This surgery will boost my confidence. I've always wanted to do but was always afraid of surgery related to the eyes. I have gotten over it, and now I just don't know how to get the process started. Thanks.

The best place to ask would be vision centres that do the surgery. They can tell you if you need a referral or can make an appointment with them. A quick google search brought up a few places in town that do it: https://www.visiontherapycalgary.com/ http://www.mitchelleyecentre.com/eye-conditions/common-eye-conditions/?gclid=CMuEjpaapNMCFRu1 wAod1X4A1Q
