  Canadian visiting Houston for the first time. In search of authentic Vietnamese fare! Hi, Vietnamese-Canadian from Vancouver BC and visiting Houston for the very first time! I'm looking for good Vietnamese restaurants to try out during my stay. I would say we're fortunate to have some decent places to eat at as we have a fairly big Vietnamese community up here in Vancouver (Although, nowhere near as large as Houston's), but I find we lack variety on the menu (there's more to Vietnamese food than just pho and banh mi). What are some 'must-go' places Houstonians would recommend for authentic Vietnamese food? Thanks in advance.

  My favorites are [Les Baget](http://www.lesbaget.com/) and [Hughie's](http://www.hughiesgrille.com/). I doubt these are the most authentic but they're very good. In terms of more authentic I think you'll find most in Midtown, places like Les Givral's, Thian An Sandwiches, and Mai's. Pho Binh is also good - there are several locations. Also not sure if the Vietnamese Crawfish places are still serving since it's close to the end of the season but you should give that a shot at with Crawfish & Noodles or LA Crawfish.
