Shipping furniture/household goods from Hong Kong to USA - any company recommendations or tips? Sadly, after only four years here I'm headed back to the US. I've acquired some nice furniture, art, and general household goods that I'd like to take back with me. Does anyone have any experience with international movers and can recommend one or give me any general advice?
And a few more specific questions:
I've heard that I need to get my wooden furniture professionally dried and packed so that the change of humidity doesn't damage it - how much truth is there to this?
I've basically got three large cabinets, two sofas, a bed, several smaller stools, a large piece of exercise equipment, and a bunch of assorted household items (rugs, appliances, decorative stuff), and I've allotted around $3,000 USD for this - does that sound about right?
Thanks for any advice - I've been googling this like mad but I'd like to hear from anyone who's been through this.
