Stylist in my area search If this post isn't allowed, someone let me know.
So I'm looking for a new hairstylist in North Austin TX . I moved here about a year ago and prior to that had always gotten my hair done by the same lady who does my mom and my granny's hair. As I got older and became more knowledgeable and knew what I wanted the less I was impressed by her. I've been having issues with my intensely dry wavy thick hair. It's been getting so bad that almost every time I take a shower now I just cry because of combing out giant matts of hair and my roots are oober greasy. This leads me to want to get some length taken off and my hair thinned out but also some advice and help from a stylist. I'm really not 100% familiar with this area yet and was hoping for some recommendations.

How north in Austin? I am a former hairdresser and several of my friends opened up their own place in 2012 - [slate salon](http://slatehairsalon.com/). It's really in Central Austin (North Loop and Burnet), but it's worth a drive. They're all wonderful stylists, but Sammy Rich has hair similar to yours and would be able to help you learn to work with it. She's also one of the funniest, best people I know.
